  • Dr Catherine Stones
    Lecturer at University of Leeds

    Catherine is a lecturer in Graphic Design at University of Leeds. She teaches a variety of subjects including information design, digital design and visual communications in general. She is currently Programme Manager for the BA Hons Graphic Design and Visual Communication. She supervises PhD students working in the area of health communication and graphic design as well as projects related to participatory design and information design. She is an AHRC Design Fellow and is currently working on a year-long AHRC funded project with Public Health England about the use of infographics in engaging public audiences. She also has an interest in illustration and its use in the telling of personal narratives.

  • Dr Dian Li
    Lecturer at University of Leeds

    Dian is a lecturer in Graphic Design and Study Abroad Coordinator. Her role at University of Leeds mainly involves teaching, research and some management responsibilities. She has been working with MA design students in a broad range of subjects including interactive media, App design, web design, animation and illustration etc. She also teach on the BA Graphic Design and Visual Communication on all levels. The two PhD projects she is currently supervising are about the simplification of graphics and digital fashion simulation. Her research interest lies mostly within the Graphic communication and information communication area, including Product instruction design, Typography and emotions also Chinese typography. As the study abroad coordinator, She is responsible for building and retaining links between our school and similar departments from different universities around the world.

  • David Appiah
    Freelance Design Consultant

    David is a seasoned creative with over 12 years’ experience working across advertising, digital and direct marketing, he has worked for leading agencies such as RAPP, VividBrand/Publicis, LIDA/M&C Saatchi, RPM and Digicraft. David is an alumnus of Prempeh College and KNUST (Design 2003) and loves creative work that strikes a clear balance between aesthetics and functionality. He is presently a self-employed design consultant and contracts across London. David was recently credited with a Silver Big Bus Challenge 2014 award for his work with RAPP on a regional bus campaign for Virgin Media. His clients include: Virgin Media, Virgin Holidays, Land Rover, Hastings Direct, Liberty Global, PayPal, Barclays, RBS/Natwest, Boots, Compare the Market, Coca Cola, Canon, Orange, O2, Tommy Hilfiger, Bacardi, Mini and Vertu.

  • Kofi Ocloo
    Regional Communications Manager at Nestlé

    Kofi Ocloo is a self-motivated bilingual professional with demonstrated ability of identifying consumer insights and translating this into successful campaigns. He is currently the Regional Communications Manager for the nutrition business in Nestlé. In this role, he oversees Nestlé’s medical detailing for infant formulas and consumer communication for baby food in Central and West Africa. With over 10 years of experience in advertising before joining Nestlé, Kofi had successfully developed strategy and advertising campaigns for brands such as: MTN, Globacom, Databank, MAGGI, NESCAFE, CERELAC, GUINNESS and Fiesta condoms amongst others. With a passion for fresh ideas and deep interest in consumer insight mining, Kofi has led and managed creative, client service and production teams in Ghana and in Nigeria over the past years. He has worked with leading agencies such as Origin8 Saatchi & Saatchi, Publicis and The Firehouse. He has a keen interest in the creative development process and is constantly looking for new ways to make meaningful connections with the consumer. Kofi has a B.Sc in Administration from Ashesi University.

    Charles aka blaQ (Creative Head – Publicis Group Africa) popularly known as blaQ has worked in advertising for over 10 years as a designer and later Art Director working with TBWA Markcom and Origin 8. He has skills in photography, painting, fashion design, sculpture and music. blaQ has a passion for idea developing and Creative thinking, worked with great advertising agencies and won many awards. Some of the brands he has worked on are MTN, Unique Trust, 1st Atlantic Merchant Bank, Vodafone, Nestle, Fiesta Condoms, Kiss Condoms, Amalbank, Femcare sanitary pads, Mercedes Benz, Nissan, Cadbury, Canon, ADB, GCB, Fidelity bank, Blu, Western Union, GSMF, Oral B, Mitsubishi, Renault, British American Tobacco, Guinness, Ruut Extra, etc.

  • Philip Bene
    Lead Web Developer at Healthy Techonology and Design

    Philip completed Msc Information Technology, specializing in Web Technology, at the University of the West of Scotland, UK after receiving a bachelor's degree in Graphic Design at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science & Technology. He became a member of the British Computer Society (BCS), The Chartered Institute for IT in 2009. He worked as a Web Developer accross Scotland before making the move to 'down under' - New Zealand. Presently, he is the Lead Web Developer at Healthy Techonology & Design Ltd. where he leads a team in the development and maintenance of websites, iOS advanced interactive eDetail and web-based applications including eCommerce. He's an experienced content developer for medical multichannel CRMs including Veeva, Agnitio, AyeQ and Next Interact. And also, passionate about UI/UX design.

  • Jennifer Jiyeon-Han
    Brand Management Consultant

    Jennifer Jiyeon Han worked previously as a creative design manager for many global agencies such as Ogilvy & Mather and clients in the auto, hospitality and F&B industries, strengthening brands through holistic and practical designs. As a Korean, who has lived and worked internationally in New Zealand, UK, Shanghai and now Singapore, Jennifer brings a well balanced perspective of functionality and aesthetics to her clients which included Audi, HSBC, Lufthansa, Hyatt Hotel, W Hotel, CJ, Cesco, President, The Wellcome Trust and Ballantine. Currently she is keeping herself busy creating new brands for up and coming start ups. Some of her works are featured in Vogue & Glamour UK.
